About Us

Who we are

Camping Life USA is run by John and Suzie Dent from our house in Excelsior Springs. We keep a fifth-wheel at a seasonal site and spend weekends on Missouri state-park loops and nearby lakes — the kind of trips where the weather changes between setup and dinner.

We started this shop because buying gear for those trips is noisier than it needs to be. Too many listings read like a warehouse catalog. We’d rather help you match a tent, sleep system, or camp kitchen to the trip you are actually taking.

How we camp, and how that shapes the shop

A fifth-wheel site is different from a backpacking mile. Packed size has to fit the truck. Setup has to finish before dark. Rain and a cold night are normal, not an edge case. That is the filter we use when we choose what to sell: family and weekend gear first, specialty pieces only when they earn a place.

About John & Suzie

We’re John and Suzie Dent. We run Camping Life USA from our house in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, and we write the camping guides on this site. We keep a fifth-wheel at a seasonal site and spend our weekends on Missouri state-park loops and nearby lakes; Watkins Mill is our close loop. John has camped since he was young, and he started out in a tent. Now that he’s older, he camps in our fifth-wheel camper. Suzie helps with the business decisions and camps with John in the fifth-wheel. Our trips are drive-up weekends: packed size has to fit the truck, setup has to finish before dark, and rain or a cold night is normal, not an edge case. That is the filter we use for the gear we sell and for every guide we publish. If a guide leaves you with a question, email campinglifeusa1@gmail.com. We read that inbox.

Where orders ship from

We fulfill from warehouses across the United States. That keeps most orders moving without you waiting on a single stockroom. If an item is backordered or out of stock, we would rather show that than take the order and apologize later.

How to reach us

Email: campinglifeusa1@gmail.com

We read that inbox. Use it for order questions, missing parts, and “will this fit my trip?” before you buy.

Shipping, returns, and the fine print

Please read these before you check out. They are the rules that apply to every order:

Shipping

Orders ship from warehouses in the United States, not from a single stockroom in Missouri. Orders are processed within 1–5 business days after payment confirmation. Estimated delivery after that is 5–15 business days in the United States. We ship only to street addresses in the lower 48 U.S. states. We can’t ship to PO boxes, APO/FPO, Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, or outside the U.S. Those are estimates, not guarantees; holidays, weather, and carrier delays can add time. Oversized items (tents, boats, some furniture) may ship freight and can take longer. You will get a tracking number by email once your order ships.

If an item is backordered or out of stock, we show that on the product page. We would rather lose the click than take money and apologize later.

Returns

Request a return within 3 days of delivery. Email campinglifeusa1@gmail.com or use Contact Us with the order number before you ship anything back. If an item is defective, damaged, or incorrect (photo or video proof required), Camping Life USA covers return shipping when a return is necessary. For non-defective returns, you pay return shipping, and a restocking/repackaging fee of up to 35% of the order value may apply. Full rules, including non-returnable items, are on Shipping & Returns.

Damaged or missing parts

Photograph the box and the item, then email campinglifeusa1@gmail.com as soon as you can, and no later than 3 days after delivery. Include the order number. We will work the warehouse or carrier from there.
